Cue Lathe Suggestions

I'm presently using an electric drill with a crutch tip to install tips, clean my pool shaft, clean ferrule, etc. It's not ideal, but it's inexpensive and it does work. Now, I'm ready to take it up a notch. I would appreciate some suggestions as to what type and brand of lathe would be adequate to do these jobs. I'm looking for something inexpensive. Would any of the lathes that Harbor Freigh sells be adequate? If so, which one and what attachments would I need. Would it be better to buy something specifically made for the pool cue industry?

Chris has some lower entery level stuff that you can always use .It's really the best way to go....To much retro fitting with the oyher stuff..Good luck ....Ray:thumbup:

Being new at this myself and facing the same dilema not long ago, I chose to retrofit/modify a grizzly lathe I had in my shop. Now I am not gonna do producton for a long time so it's no big deal. The time you save during set up alone (if you are doing production) makes a cue lathe by Porper,Hightower, or Unique the right choice. Of course if you create your pwn machines you know what they will do and what they won't better than anyone else
