Has anyone used one of these or seen one of these? I like the use of the metal type abrasive surfaces versus sandpaper.

i am using it

i bought it in singapore, where I am based.

it is sing $40

very effective, worth buying, with me for three years, pm me for any more details

Marco Tschudi used it in 2007, aug. @ Hungarian Super Final.
It seems to be pretty useless, I have to buy one, just to try it out (I'm a willard's fan, but who knows, maybe I will be like that one, too:) )

Easy does it....

Tip tools are useful but must be used sparingly especially on layered tips. It is very easy to peel away a layer or two if not
careful. Mosconi recommended a smooth tip lightly chalked as best.

Update Review

I finally picked one of these up at the Mezz booth in Vegas this month. I wanted to see one these before pulling the trigger. The abrasive is NOT overly agressive like the SANDMAN tool. I would also say it is not quite as abrasive as the willards tip tool. The guages are quarter, nickel, and dime radius as well.

To test it out I installed a Milkdud (elkmaster) tip on a test shaft. It took me about 10 minutes to shape the tip from scratch. This should give you an idea on how agressive the metal abrasive is. I also scuffed one of my shafts with a medium moori on it. It worked great and didn't tear the tip up. Finally it does not clog the way the willards tip tool does.

As such I like the way the tool works. Since it is a metal abrasive I hope it lasts a long time. I would NOT use it to shape any phenolic tips though.....:wink::wink::wink:

We have a few of these left in stock. It sells for $28 plus shipping.

We don't have it listed on our website so you'll have to call 917 324 9911 to order it.
