Cue make and specialisations?

Always a fan of cue threads, so I'm curious to know what your cue is. Feel free to post the cue make and specialisations below. Pictures are encouraged.

I use a custom made Peradon. It's a one-piece at 57" long, 17.5oz in weight, and the tip is 9mm.

My only surviving Uk pool cue was purchased 44 years ago. Was used a lot in its first 20 years or so but has only been very sparingly used in the last 20 years (and hardly at all in the last 10 years lol).

It's a Power Glide "ORIGINAL" model, hand made in England. It's ash, two-piece, 58 inches with a 9mm tip. It has resided in (or visited) various climates and temperatures in all 5 continents in those 44 years and there isn't yet (crossing my fingers) the slightest suggestion of any warp.......wish I could say the same for the brain and ability of its owner

I have a Mike Wooldridge cue made in 2005, 57.5 inches long with a 9.5mm tip.

I used a Wally West cue before that.

If I have the patience and enough cash down the line, should something happen to my Peradon, I think I'll be investing in a Mike Wooldridge. Maybe a Jason Owen, too. Who knows?

Cheers Greg! Dan (my co host) uses a Mac Chambers cue and it is absolutely lovely.

I had a cue made by a new cue maker called Scott Devlin, not suitable for pool, but is such a nice snooker cue.

Do you feel hampered with cue ball spin by using a 9.5mm tip, Scott? I certainly did using my snooker cue for pool, so I'm hoping half a millimetre down to my 9mm tip will do me some good.

I own a Woods cue for snooker. Cheap enough price for a Chinese snooker cue, but I didn't want to invest a whole lot for a game I don't usually play. Used to play pool competitively in college, and it's been my main cue sport since, so I thought I'd invest in a custom to last me a lifetime.

I own a Woods cue for snooker. Cheap enough price for a Chinese snooker cue, but I didn't want to invest a whole lot for a game I don't usually play. Used to play pool competitively in college, and it's been my main cue sport since, so I thought I'd invest in a custom to last me a lifetime.

I used a 10mm Powerglide Maple Connoisseur 1 piece for a few months for pool and it was a nightmare, made me look like Judd Trump with the spin I was getting. With the Woolridge, I've just had it for so long I know how to control the white better with it, screw and side shots are ok with it.

Scott Devlin makes beautiful cues, and literally talks you through the journey as he is making the cue. I played some pool with it and couldn't get on with it, but as soon as I played snooker with it, I was blown away. Long straight screw shots felt a bit easier as the cue is 18.5oz.

I'm terrible for cues, I have 7 I've accumulated over the years. May sound crazy, but I've had two John Parris cues I just couldn't get on with. I recently sold a 1 piece Tom Classic maple cue, again, just not suitable for pool.

I have a 1930's E J Riley table I was recently given. I would love to buy any items related to it, like a snooker scoreboard, cue, signs for room, etc.. Anyone know where to find any of these? Any help would be much appreciated Thanks, Vinny

For stuff of the same kind of vintage, keep an eye on ebay and facebook marketplace, over the course of a couple of months, and you might find interesting stuff comes up occasionally.
I guess you could look into antiques markets too...

Thanks but I don't belong to Facebook, I guess you have to be a member to buy from them. Most everything I find is in England and shipping is always the problem. Thanks, Vinny
