Cue makers around Ohio

1. There is a guy who builds cues in the Dover area named Garten Bierbower (great player too btw). I love the way his cues hit, and I am very familier with the playability of custom cues. I had a collection worth well over 50k. He could be contacted through the Velvet Rail (poolroom) in Dover Ohio. I own a very sharp cue that he made about ten years ago.
2. Another great playing cue is made by Mike Morrison? from Youngstown I tried to buy one of his low end 60" cues from the local poolroom owner it hits better than a lot of cues I had in my collection that were valued at over 2k. He used to run a poolroom in Youngstown called Mahoning Valley Billiards.
3. Shawn Putnam (top player) learned from Keith Josey (Keith in my opinon makessome of the best hitting cues I've played with.) I am not sure how many cues Shawn makes a year but he is turning out some good cues. He could be reached through calling either Racks 2 (not sure if they are in buisness still) or Mahoning valley Billiards.

Thanks Huckster. I think I may look up Garten. I am only 1/2 hour from Dover, so it is a quick trip. I think there are a group of guys from here that play in tournaments at the Velvet Rail. I believe the guy that Runs the Velvet was in the tounament I played in here last night.

I talked to a guy Weds night at a poker game about Garten Bierbower and he told me that he is well and still making cues. Garten taught another guy from Massilon the cuemaking trade and that guy turns out quite a few solid no frills wntry level customs. I think his name is Jim? If you talk to Garten ask him he could tell you. I only met Garten once about 10 years ago I tried to sneak Gerry Slivka into Dover to play Dover Dave Reynolds some. Garten ended up playing Gerry some cheap before we left.
