A new cue for Billy
Hey Dave,Like I told Matt, I can get a brand new all black Predator for $385 and shipping. Retail is close to $600, so we would save a lot.We could then get the art work and engraving done acroos the street at s.d. tropy. Let me know. I will get what ever he wants or needs at wholesale through the business. No markup. We also need to figure out the right nice case too. We need to stress secrecy with all the gang down at P.Q. or Billy will find out and the surprise will be ruined. Call me, your friend Jim.PlynSets said:Some of you might remember the thread about the local girl from our pool hall that was killed a few weeks back. Some of the guys have gotten together and we're going to take a collection and get Billy a pool cue. Billy since the incident seems to have buried himself into playing as a way to take his mind off the game, and though I can't believe anything possitive would've come from it I will say his game has jumped significantly.
We have some different ideas on what to get him, but ultimately we've kinda settled on either one of two..
Kim's favorite color was black, and her middle name was Rose. So we figured we'd see if anyone could make a solid black cue (Ebony) and have Kim with a small inlay of a Rose next to it somewhere either on the forearm, or behind the wrap on the butt cap. The thing I'm concerned about (if my memory is correct) is Ebony is one of the denser woods, and I'm concerned about it being way to heavy, or butt heavy at the end of the day.. (suggestions?)
The other cue would be a nice sneaky pete. I've seen Black sneaky's before (rare), or if we can't find one that's black maybe a night purple heart sneaky, and then put the name "Kim" in the joint collars.
I figure our Budget is 250 - 300 bucks or there abouts. I'd be willing to kick up a little extra if it meant the stepping up a couple knotches on the quality level.
So I present it to you AZB'ers, who would you call with that budget and those options? There's some local cue makers down here in S.D. but ultimately I'd like him to get something that really hits well becuase I have a hunch he's going to be playing with this for a very long time.
