Cue Nicknames?

"Private Pyle" reference from Full Metal Jacket?

Winner winner! The other acceptable answer is that it's Bart Simpson's putter's name in the episode where he has the big mini-golf challenge match with Todd Flanders. However, the Simpsons were just making an allusion to Full Metal Jacket, so it's the same reference really.

About the Tin Cup thing, I'm sure they do refer to a driver as "the big dog", but I think golfers have been saying that forever, so I don't think I really got the name from the movie. Also the two pop culture references I was going for were the Simpsons and Full Metal Jacket, both relating to Charlene.

Thanks for playing, everyone.

Well

I had a playing cue for 19 years named 'Sara', and I have been heartbroken ever since our divorce (she ran away with another guy while I wasn't looken), and I haven't had the heart to name another one of my playing cues.

But, my breaking cue is 'The Big Club'.

I don't have one, but a guy I played APA with did. He had an old Falcon plain jane that hit pretty good. He called it "Ol' Hickory" .

I call my cues 'babushka'. A play on Balabushka. A friend of mine would say that everytime my cue came out of the case. 'Babushka' would be grandma in Russian.
