In another thread, communications were being discussed. Communications between the cue maker and the buyer. Some guys use a form that gets filled out, with all the necessary specs so there is no misunderstandings after the cue is built. How many of you are doing this and would you be willing to post your form so that we all may learn from it? I, for one, would greatly appreciate it since I am terrible at taking notes AND remembering where I put said notes. If I had a form, life would be a little easier.

One response!?! That's it?

I had printed a number of work sheets, similar to Joey's, legal size but in black/white with the cue exploded. It asks: what type of joint and material, joint length, type of pin material and size, deco-rings behind joint and description, type of forearm wood, points if any and what type and material and veneers, any other inlays in forearm area, deco-ring and description in front of wrap, type and color of wrap or handle wood area and any inlays in that area, deco-ring behind wrap area, sleeve material and any inlays, deco-ring and length and type of butt cap and bumper.

On the side of the sheet is an area for all the details such as type of shaft, shaft taper, shaft size, type of ferrule, type of tip, balance point of cue, butt diameter at end of butt cap, diameter of cue at joint and any other small details that vary from the norm.

On the bottom of the sheet there is spaces for number of shafts, weight of cue, final price, amount of deposit, date of order, date of expected completion, customers name, address, phone number and e-mail address.

When order is taken in shop in person, the form is completed at that time. When it is a phone or e-mail order then all of the questions are asked and when all is decided upon, I have them send me an e-mail with all of these parameters that we have agreed on so that there is a record in case of any dispute as in the other thread.
