Cue quality

Just coming back from the Valley Forge Expo I can't help but to expound on the emergence of the quality that the newer generations of cue makers are putting out. It's truly amazing the different designs and execution of those designs that little known and smaller cue makers are producing. This craft, or some would call art, has progressed so much in the last 10 years that I, for one, am truly amazed. I saw many cues that were CNC inlaid but the work was so sharp that the only way that you knew it was CNC was because the work was so perfect that they couldn't have been cut and indexed by hand. I met a few people from this group in person for the first time and they all, were very personable and friendly. Mr. Klein's work is outstanding and He and Martin are both extremely friendly. I talked for quite a while with Tony from Tiger products and bought some of their leather. I talked at some length with Royce about the OB-1's, with Lee Malakoff about a number of subjects and bought more leather from him. Paul Dayton and myself talked about finishes that we use as we always do when running into each other. I looked Chris Hightowers equipment over and bought some cork wraps and a little leather from him also. Altogether I spent close to 500.00 on leather and skins but I still need to get a lead on some Kangaroo hide and maybe some Ostrich leg. You never know when a male Ostrich may stop by the shop looking for a little leg. I also talked for awhile with Jim Sickles of Unique Products. He's also a friendly person. I guess a person wouldn't last long in sales if he wasn't friendly though. Truthfully, I never met a person there that wasn't friendly and that I wouldn't be able to get along with at a different place and time. Things have changed since the times I used to go to all of the BCA trade shows. At those shows it was mostly all business and if you weren't a distributor then they had no time for you. Pure business.

I tried to give you a rep point for the wonderful report above but they said I have to spread them around more so here I am.

Thanks for taking the time.

Good Cuemaking,

I missed you at the Expo. I was only there for about 4 hours spread out on Saturday.

Just sent you a PM on the Kangaroo. I was going to order some different colors for myself this week and full hides of anything but black will probably last me a lifetime.
