Cue Refinished!

I thought i would toot my own horn for a minute because I am very excited about this!

I recently got my first lathe and talked a friend of mine into letting me rebuild an old Viking cue of his. This cue used to be one of his favorites when he was a lower level road player. This cue had been run through the ringer.

I got the cue and went to work. I stripped and refinished it, added a white with green spec wrap, drilled/tapped and added a weight bolt to get it to the weight he wanted, reconditioned the shaft and ferrule, and put a fresh LePro tip on the cue.

Check out the before and after pics. If anyone has an old cue that they would like redone, I will do it for cheap. I do not want anything of great value sent to me yet though. I am learning my craft and do not want to ruin a cue that has great value monetarily or sentamentally to anyone. However, if you have a cue laying around that you always liked but is dead to you now, send it to me and I will try to bring it back to life!

Looks like francisco..lol I pm'd you neil on a lucassi I have that needs help.maybe you can clean him up and we can sell it or do an auction for someone that needs a cue.

I too am interested in picking up my own lathe to do some simple shaft work and possible my own refinishing and wraps for worn cues for friends and family. I agree, I wouldn't do anything on cues of value as I would prefer to have those done by professionals. Were you able to preserve the Viking logo or did your friend want it removed? What resources are you using for your work? Hightower's book and videos?
