Cue Refinishing Question

Pardon my ignorance, but could someone tell me if there is any way to fix an imperfection in the finish of a cue (like a ding) without having the entire cue refinished?

shaft dings can be steamed out... deep dings filled with CA glue/sawdust..sand,seal.
Not sure about butt dings.

Probably better in the ask the cuemaker section, but in my experience, there are some imperfections you can take care of yourself.

For example, a slight cloudiness or light scratch, a polishing compound with plenty of rubbing, followed up with either an acrylic sealant or high quality wax will do the trick. It takes some elbow grease. This assumes it's not an incredibly valuable, collectible cue.

But you asked about a ding. If it's on the butt, rather than the shaft, which I assume you meant, it's pretty hard to get a ding out without the usual refinish and respraying. Maybe there will be other opinions.

All the best,
WW

Will is correct.....the shaft is different than the cue's butt and and the cue's forearm as well.
There's different woods & finish which is not something to tinker with or experiment on....IMO
