Hello, I'm refinishing my cue, went great, the only thing I was unable to do was keep the Hoppe ring snow white. No matter what I did, the cocobolo kept getting stuck inside the pores of the cloth (it's some kind of linen based phenolic, not sure which, the cue is a Mezz, I don't think it's bakelite as it's not that hard). Any suggestions on what you do to keep it snow white?
I'm thinking the only way to do it would be to run a milling pass on it, then seal it off before sanding the wood. The main issue was, it seems, that the sawdust actually penetrates the surface height, and goes in just a few thous deeper, just enough so I can't get it out. I tried dry sanding it, wet sanding, using solvents, blasting air, and using a wet magic sponge to try and pick out the dust. I was unable to get it looking snow white. Kindly asking for a few suggestions on what to try?
