Cue repair

I recently purchased this Mezz cue. Got a really good deal on it so I couldn't complain about the dings. Now I'd like to get recommendations on where to send it to have it fixed (OCD). Thanks in advance.

Can't see the dings in the shaft but unless extremely severe, you can do those yourself.

Lightly sand as close to the ding with like 220 grit. You just want to open up the grain in that spot.
Then spit on your finger and apply to that spot. Go do something for few minutes. Check email or something.
Apply again and write some email. Apply again.

Lightly sand with say 400 and see what you think.

Rinse and repeat.

Some folks will wet a rag and put a hot iron over the ding.
That works too.

Light dings will usually pop out with moisture. Heat helps with expediting things.
Still need light/focused sanding

The prior owner went crazy cleaning that shaft. It has formed a neck below the ferrule. Do you see its fat, then skinny about 1" below the ferrule, then gets fat again? Not much can be done about that, the wood is long gone. You can have the ferrule matched up to the remaining shaft diameter, but the neck will still be there. Maybe match it up to a new carbon fiber shaft if that's up your alley.

Sending the thing away and paying for the fix for that 1/2 mm ding is a bit silly, seeing how there is a very good chance at some point the same or worse will happen to it while you are using it. Save your money, cues get hit, it's normal. Put a dab of black nail polish on it, scrape away the excess very carefully, then buff it a bit to even it out with 1000 then 2000 grit sandpaper, again carefully not to go outside the small area much. But I would just leave it as is. The shaft looks like you may need to actually have it turned down to match the width to fix. As the post above, it looks like the wood is shaved away.

Now you know why you got a "good" deal on it! It has the "double pro taper"!
I'd go for a new shaft and add the old one to my collection of fireplace pokers.

I'd use black auto touch up paint, it's a superior product to nail polish.
