Cue roll due to Lizard Wrap?

I got a new custom cue recently, and when I roll it on a table, the tip comes up significantly. The shafts are straight, so I think the butt has a bad roll. Could this be due to the unevenness of a lizard wrap? I tried rolling the cue on a ping pong table and it looks like the point of contact is right on the wrap.

If this is the case, how should I tell if my cue is warped or not in the future?

That will happen if that piece came from the bottom of the lizard. The cue rolls "up" at the point where the legs of the lizard meet the body. The skin is very hard in that area unless rolled out with a rolling pin.

Then again it could be that I have no idea what I am talking about ;)

It may not only wrap problem, if shaft is straight, then it maybe the butt is baned or like what u say the wrap cozing the problem but if it's the butt ban as u say this is new then u should back to dealer to ask refund.

just thought

Rather than rolling the cue flat on the table try rolling the cue with the butt cap on the table and the forearm on the rail. This can also be done with the shaft on the cue.Rolling it this way seems to magnify a warp if it has one. Hope this helps.

Put the cue together and sight down it from the butt end. Turn it while you are looking at it. If it's warped, you'll see it. When I say sight down the cue I mean pick it up and look down the length of it like if you were sighting through a rifle. Again, if it's warped, you'll see it.
