Any suggestions as to which is better in the long run? I primarily want to repair tips, ferrules, install linen and leather wraps, the simple stuff ya...

If your looking remotely at investing in a Cue Companion I recommend checking out the CueSmith MidSize

you cant do leather on anything except the mid size or deluxe and the leather wrap fixture.

Well since I'm thinking of getting the wrap fixture, I figured I wouldn't need such a good lathe like the midsize or deluxe cause all I'd need it for is to hold the cue in place while i sand the handle down.

So I was actually planning on a Cue Companion or Micro II/III, along with a wrap fixture from Unique.

You know what? After looking at the price between the Micro III and Midsize, I feel that I may end up getting the Midsize after all, cause it's just a hundred more.

the mid size is only a little more. id rather spend the extra few hundred on a beter machine the leater wrap fixture is only 200$. my wraps come out perfect. i featther it in with a razor blade i dont really sand.

alot more machine for the cash. i make entire cues on my mid size

look at the leather i didn on this cue. there is no lip anywhere and the seam is perfect. if you look at the 2nd and 3rd pic. where u see my name sutton the seam is perfect in line with the TT. you cant see it at all!!!

Of all the machines that were mentioned, if you find one that DOESN'T have increments on the dials, I'd stay away from it like the plague.

The leather wrap fixture is the one that Chris said can only be used with the Cue Smith lathes?
