Cue storage

I apologize if this has been asked before. I keep most of my cues in thier cases, in my safe. Is there a specific position to store them that is preferred? I assume upright in thier cases with the shafts and butt pointing downwards. Am I right or is there a better way

Not trying to be rude but just offering a suggestion. If you use the search option at the top of the page you will find a pelethora of answers and opinions on this subject. I myself am always interested to hear different opinions though so let's see some answers. Everybody that responds to this topic always has a different opinion.

i dont think leaning is a good idea at all. take a cheap cue and lean it in the corner for a few days. it will sag in the middle and be worthless
