cue storage

I store my cues in an open display rack and have had a couple of cues develop a slight wobble. Would it be better to store them in a quality case? I don't have central AC but the pool room is heated. Thanks in advance.

Storing a cue in the upright has been done for years & years. That would be a column weight compression type situation.

I like the rubber green slip holders, sold by Mueller. They hold the Cue from the top of the shaft, using the weight of the cue to provide tension, while the cue is in a static position. I have actually pulled that wobble out, using these cue holders.

NOTE; they are very inexpensive.

I've always stored my cues in a nice case and my home has central A/C. So far I haven't had any problems and I wouldn't advise leaving a nice custom cue in an open display rack unless the temperature and the humidity can be controlled.
