cue storage

I have a couple of cues that I want to store long term. What is the best way to do this. Even heat and humidity I know. Is vertical or horizontal better, in or out of a case, what type of case is better.

Hard case...air tight....I vote for vertical. Cool, and consistent temp/humidity year around will serve you best.

I had 40 collector cues stored in cases, that held 12 cues horizontal. Over 10 years, in a controlled atmosphere, 2 warped. I sold them all. I also have a Hoppe cue, I bought in 1959. It was stored in a soft case, hung from a nail, behind a door, in a room with no heat or air conditioning. It it straight as an arrow, even today. Who can figure...JER

I always say nothing it more true then gravity so hanging is the best. Maybe make a plexiglass self like thing and drill holes. Stick the pin thru and use the joint protector to hold it. Obv you need climate control. Second I'd say laying flat in a case under a bed or something.
