Cue Storage

Hey! I've managed to pick up a few cues now and my good case will no longer hold them all. I also don't want to be carrying around extra cues for no reason. So I was wondering how everyone stores their extra cues? I'm hoping there is a cheaper way than buying another good case ($300+ range).

Thanks,
Ry

if it's for storage, make sure the shafts are not squeezed together. placed the cue sorta loose but with support all around. i use those fat 3c billiard soft cases with the neoprene pockets, and i DON'T stuff the cues.

It makes me sad everytime I think about my stored cues. Al of them are STUFFED ito extra soft cases I've had lying around. I always think about buying a few hard cases to put then in but never get around to it :(

If I could do it all over again, I would buy 4x8's to put them in. That is what I would suggest to you...

buy a 12 x 24 dealers case .it has 2 wheels,lots of pockets .very nice under $300.00:)

hanging them is probably the best way, but if that is inconvenient at least stand them straight up in a case. don't leave them lying flat, your butts probably would not warp, but your shafts could. the wood will "relax" and change shape through time and gravity will cause them to sag or warp.

Hi Ryeth,

For short term storage my Porper 2 X 4's work fine.

For longer term, infrequently used cues, I purchased a couple of inexpensive 2 piece wall racks for $14 each. Cues are perfectly vertical and mounted on a closet wall - outa sight and away from damaging sunlight.

Cheap Storage?

Why not just loosely wrap the unused cue in an old pillow case, and slide into some 3" PVC with a plug on one end, and a threaded cap on the other? Air tight, durable, cheap, and out of the light. If you are worried about moisture, throw in a silica gel packet. Anybody tried this? I would think it would be the poor-man's version of a Fellini case. This could cost you more than 10 bucks at a hardware store.

extras do you have? or how many do you expect to have in the future? ...Lol

That may determine the method of storage for them. My Action Elite ELN 3 x 5 was only 79.20 with free shipping from poodawg.com. It has tubes, with a seperate side for the butts and for the shafts. The Silver Fox BR2 soft cases with tubes is about $109, and is a 4 x 8.

It you are going to have a lot, then the suggestiojn for a dealer case might be the best, and they have wheels.

My problem is that I have 12 x 24 AND a 24 x 48 case :D

It's definitely easy way to maintain the cues and shafts.
