Roscoe has given you some good advice, don't mess with pin. I don't know how your cue is constructed but if you play on carpet you might take out bumper. This would only be a tempory move until you got a new case.

I had the same problem and the solution was very simple. My case has foam in the bottom and all that was needed was just a little pressure to push the butt into the foam. You're case may be different but it worked for me.
