Cue Transaction

I recently made my first purchase using Facebook's cue buy/sell/trade forum. It was for a Schon cue butt and I spent $250 on it, which I thought was a good deal.

When I received the cue, it was stamped '#2' on the opposite side of the Schon logo on the cue butt. In researching this online, that means it is a Schon factory second.

The seller did not disclose this nor put it in any of his pics. While I cannot visually see anything wrong with the cue butt, I am not a cue appraiser or expert, just a player.

If this happened to you, would you make a big deal over it and try to get some recourse from the seller? Since this is my first transaction I don't want to make a ruckus over something that is common practice - but it seems like I got slighted a little bit....

What model is it? If it was a great deal and is now just "a fair price" - use it and be done.

If you are unhappy, return it. I know you backed the transaction with PayPal as goods and services so you are protected. No one would ever dream of coming on here and asking opinions if they didn't protect themselves with a cr ed did card or PayPal.

I think the person who sold the cue had a duty to inform potential buyers that he was selling a factory 2nd.

Not being a 1st quality cue *has to* at least somewhat impact negatively on the value of the cue.

imo, you would be well within your rights to ask either for an adjustment or return it for a full refund if you wanted to.

without hearing the seller's side of the story it's impossible to say it was intentional but with it stamped "2" and that meaning what it does, with no picture of that making the sale ad, it does cause a red flag to pop.

if it plays good and you said you do like the look of it, this should be a good start toward a nice ending.

Yeah, it sounds a little shady to me that the #2 "magically" never appeared in any of the photos. If the guy never mentioned it was a factory second, I think you are well within your rights as a consumer to expect something to be done.
