I am in New Zealand at the moment. The cue ball here is quite small compared to the USA cue ball size and the cue tip is smaller, average seems to be 9 mm, but the cues weight between 18 to 19.5 oz.
I would have thought with a lighter ball you may want a lighter cue , but does not seem to be the case.
Anyone have experience with the small english sized ball using an American type Cue?

Yeps. I play both snooker and pool and have both types of cues. When i was residing in Australia, i played American, British pool and Snooker as well. Using the large 13mm tips on the small balls is not exactly fun, esp when you have a rail shot. IMHO the cue weight does not make a huge difference, the ability to control the amount of strength to the cue ball is.

Just my .1 cent
