Cue wood question

I plan to have a cue made at the start of next year when my pension kicks in. I appreciate almost all cues, but my personal taste has a tendency towards Southwestern type cues (like New Mexico and Arizona, not Southwest cues although Southwest cues have somewhat of a Southwestern type colors in them sometimes).

I have fallen in love with red Amboyna Burl and want it to be my main wood in the new cue. I have nothing against Black, they are nice to look at, I just don't want to own one (like I would never own a black car), so I don't want Ebony to be the other wood, nor do I want BEM. I plan to do inlay designs in the cue that would have a Southwestern look to it.

What I want to know is, what other wood would look good with the Amboyna Burl that would have a little pop to it and also complement it?

addendum: I have played with a wrapless cue for the last 8 years, and I don't know if I could get used to a wrap again. I have decided if I have a wrap, it will mostly likely be Elephant Ear, or if I decide wrapless to have a segmented handle with the Amboyna Burl.

Holly would look nice with some black paper or veneer for a border IMO

Any very dark wood or very light colored wood.
Ambuyna is among the worst hitting woods there is so it has to be cored to be even decent.
Great for decorations but not so great in the hit department.

I didn't know that Joey about the hit. It would be cored though...
you given me pause for cause here, because playability is first with me.

I used to have a custom cue that had Mexican bocote and African Padauk, and I really like the hit with it. Plus I liked the woods together, the orange
in the Padauk reminded me of Cactus flowers.

I have to ponder this for awhile ...
