Cueist app.. whats your score rating?

Just a thread to see where everyone’s rating is and how it progresses. I have not put that much work into this. maybe like 15 mins every other day for a couple weeks at this point so my score might not be as accurate as it will be over the long run. I tend to like to play the ghost a lot. I work on long straight stop shots and draw shots where it focuses on accuracy striking the cue ball more than anything. Maybe this will motivate us. Over all I like the app. Some shots I find questionable but I do my best to work them anyway. My shot making is lower but they give you some shots that I would never shoot in an actual match. It would be a safe all day so that effects it in my opinion.

In case it matters what my speed is my Fargo isn’t legit. It’s I think a 545? I only played in an acs league for a season that tracked Fargo and playing 1 game of 8 ball against someone isn’t a legit way to track your speed of play imo . I’m a 7/9 in apa and as the same in tap 8 ball. No I don’t gamble . It’s never interested me.. if your thing it’s cool but I’m fine with leagues and tournaments.

As in my initial review, many of these shots are not shots I would usually attempt. So I understand it might be good practice, but I think that's why my aim score is low.

I'm using the ghost drills right now in the app. I thought the initial tests in the app were great. But I've only used the training part a short time so far.

I was a long term 6 in apa (but I feel that rank varies by league/location). I only saw a couple of 7's in all the years I played apa but feel I was on the borderline of being a 7? No idea what my Fargo would be.

I am enjoying the app. I have several drills that practice with from the CheckBilliard app. I have been using the Cueist app since March 28th. In 9 days I have logged ~900 shots. I have found that after about 50 shots, I need to do something else, so I will play the ghost or 14.1 or do an endless drill. My Fargo is 486. I play on an 8ft Brunswick with 5in pockets.

9’ anniversary w/ 4.5” pockets

I have recently been using contacts when playing. Still getting used to it. Eye focus is a little laggy and sometimes just goes fuzzy.

On a 7ft in the garage. I have noticed that some scenarios don't really work on a smaller table.

I stopped using it. I just don’t find any it a positive thing for your confidence to shoot ridiculously hard low percentage shots that will rarely come up in a game. If you’re a pro doing it for a living practicing 10 hours a day thats great but for a person getting about 2 hours a day I just don’t think it’s a positive experience.

From doing the initial assessment I completely agree... some of those crazy back cuts to a corner on the other side of the table do come up playing 1 pocket a fair bit, so those are useful for that, but that is about it.

Would have liked to have seen that initial assessment be based on more realistic shots that come up often in 9ball matches.

It’s really my only issue. Other than that the app is really well thought out. Gives you all the options you would want. I like the scoring system. That’s the only thing holding me back from. Using it

I agree with a lot of the aiming drills that the shots don't line up to most real world scenarios, though I still find them helpful to practice. The position drills are very well thought out, though.

After you shoot a drill, I think you can tell it not to repeat that drill again. Also, as I have used it more, those type shots don't come up for me very often at all. As a side note, I have gotten much more comfortable shooting thin back cuts to the corner pocket 😉

That's been a rather weak spot in my game that I've been working on.
