Our own very fabulous Cueqween took the crown today at the Parsippany/Comet Billiards stop of the NEWT tour, earning herself a few bucks and more importantly free entry into a WPBA event later this year. Kathy arrived a bit late yesterday, no doubt contributing to a shaky start and a loss in her first match before beginning a tear through the B side of the bracket, never again letting an opponent win more than 4 games.
Her opponent in the finals was another famed AZB poster, one of the few players in the game instantly recognized by a single name 'Barbara'. Going into the finals, Barbara seemed to be shooting very strong but Cueqween was not to be denied and cruised to a 9-4 win. Caroline Pao took third.
Cueqween was third in POY points prior to this event just 40 points out of 1ST. Unfortunately due to the loss of some apparently key brain cells in the distant past, Im not sure how her victory affected the standings but she is definitely near the very top.

Gerry...I don't think I know you, but I have seen your posts in the past and thought maybe it was possible that I have seen you before. We definitely are close enough to the same area to have had that chance. Maybe we will meet soon! Thanks everybody....hope to see you in the next couple of weeks...in Maryland maybe at the next JPNEWT?
