Who wanna bid $1000...
The venue is fantastic! There are more cues under one roof than I have ever seen! I for one am more impressed with the new cues from Andy Gilbert than anybody else. Andy has always done great work but this year he has raised the bar. He sold his top end cue for $9,500 and should have asked at least $10k. Kuddos to Andy! (and one of the nicest guys in pool.)
Jerry McWorter sold all his cues but one during the first day and a half and had to get some of his cues from the dealers to show at his booth.
Chris Nitty sold 8 really nice cues on the first day and took orders for quite a few more.
Art Cantando showed up today and had his 4 high end cues ranging from $5k to $10k sell within about an hour and a half. Another of Art's cues sold on the secondary market in 7.5 minutes. I'd say the demand for Art's work clearly outpaces the supply.
Rick Chudy showed up with some outstanding examples of his unique work as always.
This is always one of the best true cue shows of the year and this year has not disappointed. Many of the world's top cue makers are not in booths but have been making the rounds and creating a buzz.
More to come tomorrow....
