I just spoke to Abe Rich within a week ago. He is just fine. He's in His middle 80's, and I hope He goes for another 20 years. And I know He loves to go to His shop every day, His hours are 9:00am - 4:00pm Mon - Fri. The name of His company is Star Cue mfg.

I bought my first two cues from Abe back in 1981. I gave one to an old girlfriend (I wish I had it back) and the other was stolen. Those cues played great and were the start of cue collecting and a passion for pool.

Abe is a member of our International Cuemakers Association. Here is his contact info:
Abe Rich / Star Cue

Miami Beach, Florida 33139 USA
Telephone 305-673-1133
I stopped in there a few years ago and bought a cue from him myself. I bet the shop looks pretty much the same as it did when you visited. It is like stepping back in time 40 years.

WOW! its great to hear he's still alive and still making cues!!!! that post said he was 99!!he was such a nice man. had a one man operation back then. i cant beleive he is still at the same address. that property near south beach must be worth a fortune.

yup

Still there and still going in most days. Can of herring and a tomato on his desk most days. Last time I was there, last few times ( been a while ) his g/f was there also. She's about 15 yrs younger, he's robbing the cradle :p

Abe

I was at Abe Rich's shop last week (Abe's friend Miss Alice was there, too). He doesn't talk on the phone much- it is best to stop by and see him if you want to visit. He showed me some of his cues and referenced how many cues it took to pay rent. ;)
All in all he seems to be doing well and still loves building cues. I stopped by on my birthday and he told me that he's 87 (if I remember correctly). He called me a young man. (Made me feel better about hitting 35!)
