cues on the plane

Whats the best to take my cues to the expo? First time flying with them
thanks

Try a Pelican case #1700. They are kind of expensive, unless compared to the price of a nice cue. They are built to withstand quite a beating.

I have done extensive work in airports(behind the scenes) and there are far worse things then the baggage handlers....... There are these things called "pushers" which basically when the luggage comes down the conveyor belt the pushers hit the baggage on to the proper line to get it to the proper plane.... Now when i say "hit" i mean it, i have seen a bag hit by the pusher sent half way across the baggage area airborne and that piece of luggage had 200lbs in it........ This was during testing of the new conveyor lines.... So there are extremely bad forces exerted on luggage..........

wow, so what do you recommend doing when transorting just one or 2 cues in a normal carrying case?

I would recomend a really nice high quality case, personally i have never flown with my cues but i have a Whitten case which i beleive to be very strong on the inner workings ( no disrespect to Jack Justis cases as i really like them just dont have the money to own one) so you might want to try to get youre case inside a peice of luggage as stated earlier as double protection to youre cues....... Another case i have thought about being good for travel is the Zero Haliburton cases which are aluminum made....... I hope any of these suggestions help anyone...........

why not just buy some 3 or 4" pvc pipe, get it cut to fit your cue, buy some end caps, wrap cue in bubble wrap, put cue in pipe, put on ends, pack pvc pipe in bag.

Really hard to break a short piece of pvc thats in a bag. Sure they might look to make sure its not a explosive, but don't tape the ends so they can take it apart.

Now of course this is just theory, its how I ship cues usually to buyers, so not sure if it would be ok on a plane. Would call and make sure first.

What about temp or humidity?

Whether you check your luggage on a plane or ship it by fedex, don't you worry about what sort of temperature and humidity conditions it will be exposed to for the hours and/or days that it is out of your possession. Seems to me like this could easily be as bad or even far worse than leaving a cue in your car when its really hot or really cold outside.
