Just out of curiosity:What custom cues do you see frequently in your area? This forum obviosly has members from a very broad geographic area and i think to a certain extent custom cuemakers enjoy more popularity in their home area so i just wondered who makes it to the hands of players where you live?ThanksM.S.

Jerry Terbrock, Black Creek, Scruggs and Jacoby are the most used in my particular area! Illinois, just outside of St. Louis.

Playing in the APA I mostly see production cues but when it comes to custom, Mike Webb's cues are everywhere and rightfully so. I've yet to see or play with one I didn't like.

Nova, Judd and Jacoby seem to be the main ones around here. at least it used to be. but since i dont much frequent the normal pool places around here the last couple of years i couldnt say for certain. got tired of all the losers that wanted to drink beer and be a loudmouth first, and play pool second.

regards,
DCP

Terbrock, Scruggs, Bloodworth, Gilbert (mostly Jump/Breaks), Huebler, South West, and because of me, Skip Weston. :D

I play with a Skip Weston and my buddy bought one because he liked mine!

Agreed..... Mikes cues are the nuts.

I think I'll have to arrange a viewing for my new one..... lol

Cues in Finland: Prathers (quite a few, bought from Sweden from a Prather dealer), a few Michael Capones (bought when Mika was playing with one) and then a lot of custom cues with only a single one around: Andy Gilbert, Danny Stout, Edwin Reyes (bandido here in AzB), Black Boar, Pechauer (custom), Jerry Olivier... and I don't think much more than that.

It's sad, so many good players around but not many can recognize the names above... They just settle for a ok production cue and none will have courage to order a top notch custom cue (except me, waiting for a confirmation on my new cue payment ! :p )

Most of the people who play in our Local Room of 29 Tables where I live are big on Wal-Mart special that retail for between 15-24 BUCKS.

See a few Predator’s, Meucci’s, Joss, (1) Gina, (1) Jim Buss, Dufferan's. But as I said the majority of players Drive $40,000-$60,000.00 Cars, and are happy with their Wal-Mart Specials Pool Cues.....

My pair of Cues is pictured below in my profile.... :D

Looking forward to checking it out. Like I said, haven't met a Webb cue I didn't like.

What about Longoni, and Schuler? How popular are they in Europe?

Thank you.

Not many Longonis around. And I think they are production cues. One guy used to have a Schuler cue, but he moved to States to finish his doctoral degree. There are tons of Predators and Bears and Josses around as far as production cues are considered...

i have only seen 2 in the last little bit everyone uses Falcon's and predators

Espiritu and Pechauer

Down here a lot of people play with meucci, some joss, schons Gary Dawkins, and Mezz Cues..
But i don't count .i trun over cues some fast, some time forget what i'm playing with now .. But Now i have A Ken Murrell cues and it plays good ..Not bad looking ..   By far ....

Scruggs, Schons, some older Joss cues, lucasi, predator, fury, mcdermotts, some old meuccis

Lot of scruggs around here, used to have a guy that sold the sneakys for 100-150 for break sticks about 20 years back.

Some nicer ones as well.

I am about the only one to use a custom cue. Most are cheap procduction cues. Did see one Richard Black and a Joss West.

In Chicago, there's fewer and fewer custom cues. From what I can tell you, there's a good amount of Cogs, DPKs, Southwests, Ed Youngs, and a few more that I can't remember at this time. I'll post them when I get to ask around. One thing to remember about Chicago is that there's alot of people who reside here that came from other places. Sure, there's a TON of production cues, but you'll find people that'll swear up and down about how bad a production cue hits...then 3 months later they're playin with one, or have a predator shaft!

In my area, Western Michigan area, are Jacoby, the owner of the pool hall i frequent has a couple JossWest cues, and 2 or 3 bloodworths. a buddy of mine picked up a nice plain Birdeye Espiritu, and i have seen a couple of them around. And several Gilberts.

but mainly people in my area shoot with Schons, Joss, Vikings or other production cues.

and then theres me with two Meucci Originals lol.
