Cuetec Breach vs Meteor

Good morning all. I've been looking for an affordable break cue and found two. A Breach and a Meteor. The Meteor is priced about 75 bucks less than the Breach. Which do you think is the better choice? Thanks for any input.

The one who think feels better in your hands after you hit it for bit...?

Probably not the definitive answer you were hoping for, but probably the best one you're going to get.

I personally have never heard of a "Meteor", but I have hit the breach. In my hands, the Breach did nothing to stand itself apart from the other CF breakers out there.

I'm buying them sight unseen so I won't be able to hit with them first. No way to gauge which is better or worse.
That's rough... Boils down to if you're ok with gambling with an additional $75. You may find someone on the forum that has hit both, but that doesn't mean their preferences are going to be in alignment with yours.

Pretty sure when I bought my Mezz PB-G, I did so without trying one out first. I had a pretty good sense of how it would work out with prior experience with CF breakers though. I got lucky I suppose, and I'm really happy with the purchase. I wish you the same fortune.

The Meteor is 75 clams cheaper so I was wondering if the difference in the two cues is negligible or if one outshines the other.

This kinda depends on your skill level. The break is about 90-95% dependent on the break skill and rack setup. A top end break cue like the Breach (which is more like $400-500 over the Meteor) would really only be a good purchase if the player is say a 700+ Fargo and is looking for that last few percent to improve a bit or if someone just has a wad of spare cash and does not care what things cost.

A cue that I really liked was actually an older model Cuetec break/jump cue, when I swapped the tip for a white diamond. The fiberglass coated shaft gave it a nice stiff break cue like hit while still having a nice pro taper and diameter that was good. It's no longer made so would be used, but I like it almost as much as the BK Rush for 1/3rd the cost https://www.budgetcues.com/products/cuetec-pool-cue-ct296

The PureX and Players break/jump cues are good also, McDermott Stinger. Pechaur has nice quality break cues but seems they make them all forward weighted which I am not a fan of.

Really you can buy any cue with a stiffer taper / 13mm shaft and swap the tip out for a break tip and get the same break as you would with a $500+ break cue.

This is spot on. I say this as a BK Rush owner - the vast majority of players will see little to no benefit from a "premium" break cue. My advice would be to buy something serviceable, within your budget, and that feels good.

I'm just putting this here because budget was mentioned.
Before I hurt may arm, I was playing a long big table set of 9ball with a guy who had a Rush.
I was using my Poison VX-2 (i think) and out-breaking him.
I tried his Rush on some breaks and did not care for it.
After hurting my arm, I decided to look for a CF breaker that would give a ore solid hit at less MPH.
I tried a different BKRush and was still not impressed.
A friend had me try a few breaks with his full-length Little Monster. I liked it a lot.
I ordered one with the rubber sport grip and couldn't be happier @ <$250 delivered.
Breaking style and accuracy are the most important things in the break but as far as CF hard-hitting breakers go, I like the monster.
I would have bought the JFlowers new BRKR but it was a 2 month wait.

Thank you all very much for the input. Hugely appreciated. As a sidebar, I was about to buy the Breach......but then the guy ghosted me and his profile disappeared from FB Marketplace. That cue was $250. Moral of the story.....check out every possible buy with the experts...you folks. Had I not done my due diligence I think he'd have gotten me. FYI.......Jason Lanney is the name he was using. There are several others of the same name on there but not the guy I was talking to. The Meteor is $165 but it looks like that's fairly close to retail. So, if any of you see the listing on Ebay which is where he said he was going to post it........be wary. He was in the NE of the US....Maine......Massachusetts....something like that.

A $650 newly released cue that is sold out from most if not all places, being sold at $250 has more to watch out for than a guy driving a ice cream van wearing a clown mask with blood on it.

I actually bought a meteor last year it breaks nice. My only complaint is having no wrap, my next one will have a wrap.

It’s the right answer lol one person’s magic wand is another‘s tree breach. These questions can’t be answered lol
