Cuetec Cynergy Carbon Fiber Shaft - 12.5mm

I learned how to play pool with a solid maple shaft and was never a fan of low deflection shafts because I did not want to invest the time to relearn aim, etc. I was familiar with the deflection and cue ball squirt so I saw no need to "upgrade". I hit with my friend's 12.5mm Cuetec Cynergy carbon fiber shaft last night and was pretty impressed. The shaft imparted cue ball squirt, had good feedback and did not make a "ping" sound like some of the carbon fiber shafts on the market. Then there was the draw. OMG, drawing the cueball a table length + was effortless; much much easier and more action than my solid maple shaft. It's borderline cheating. Any idea why this shaft gets so much draw action? I'm not sold yet but I'm definitely more interested than I've ever been in changing shafts. One of my points of contention is have the shaft the same diameter as my joint (21.35mm) and adding the same ringwork that's on my cue. Anyone have any experience with this?

Can I ask a couple questions?

Regarding cue ball squirt, where would you put the amount of deflection between a really low deflection shaft and a standard maple shaft? I had a revo and a defy, I didn't notice any deflection in either.

Regarding the draw, what kind of shaft are you comparing the draw too?

Thanks

In the limited time I played with the Cynergy, I'd say the squirt was slightly less than a solid maple shaft.

I was comparing the ease of draw to my solid maple shaft.

Not sure if it helps or hinders, but to me the Cynergy has a longer pro taper but generally plays & feels very similar to a 314 v2 or v3, similar weight/balance, deflection about the same, maybe considered medium-low deflection by today's standards. It's all so subjective, descriptions like this probably don't actually help much, but there's one person's take on it. Cheers

I A-B'd a Jensen shaft with ivory ferrule and a Cynergy(12.5 & 11.8) and also a Mezz Ignite. All three CF's squirted less with the 11.8 Cuetec being about the least deflecting shaft i've ever tried. WAY less than the Jensen shaft. I just don't like that small of diameter. I'd like to try the Pechauer and the new Tiger but no one around me has bought one yet. I'm not buying without trying.

My take. All shafts 12.5 - 12.75
Maple deflecting the most.
XLR8 right under maple.
OB1
Revo - Cynergy - Prime M
BD SS360/2
Barioni deflecting the cue ball the least
