Cuetec Cynergy making a “tink” sound

I have a question I hope someone can answer. My Cynergy shaft makes a “tink” sound when I hit the cue ball hard. I’m currently using an Elkmaster tip. Can’t get much softer than that. The butt is the one that came with the 360 shaft; pretty much standard. The wooden 360 shaft does not make that sound. Is there a way to deaden the sound? I really don’t care if that would change the deflection. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Did it make that sound before you changed the tip?

Michael, thanks for responding. Your insight has always been helpful. Yes, the shaft always made a tink sound regardless of tip. Thought I would try a VERY soft tip to see if that would help. The shaft has the standard Cynergy ferrule. I was wondering if adding something to the end of the shaft to deaden that sound would work. Again, thanks to all for any suggestions to help.

A very soft tip want really help. It's the natural sound of the shaft. The Cynergy already have a fairly soft ferrule, changing it want do much. I think your best bet is testing another carbon fibre shaft.

Hello Sir
When it comes to tink sounds, especially on c/f. It sought of goes like this if your positive it's not an air pocket under the tip.
Ferrule??
Tenon under the ferrule??
Joint insert??
Joint rings??
Foam inside??
I must say, I really like and respect what Cuetec has done with offering this shaft. I have only had to change two ferrules so far but that was from deep scratches from people stabbing with a tip pick.

Tip picks can be hazardous to the life span of a ferrule...
