Cuetec Thunderbolt

I have a Cuetec Thunderbolt cue, and I find it doesn't take long for the shaft to become a bit sticky during play. The cue has some kind of polish on it rather than fiberglass or unclad maple. What is the best way to clean the shaft for maximum effective use? I just bought the Cuetec Hi-Tech cleaner and that works very well. Do I keep this with the cue and wipe down every hour or so during a tournament? How can I clean the cue in a tournament without the Hi-Tech? Perhaps this cue encourages using a glove? Does anyone else have this cue ... how do you maintain it .. ?

You will have to wipe the shaft down often to keep it smooth and not sticky. When I shot with a Cuetec or if I'm shooting in a very humid place, which causes my wood shaft to become a little "clamy"...I use a cue glove! The glove really helps keep the friction at a very minimum.

Keep your hands clean. Wash them with cold water to minimize sweating. There is a Microfiber towel from 3M, wipe the shaft with it frequently. Use the towel dry, it really does a great job of keeping your shaft gunk free. Don't use talc, it mixes with oils from your hands and makes matters worse. You can also use the 3M towel on your hands if they start to feel sweaty.

Thanks for the advice both of you. I think I will go and get some of these towels from Target today. I was thinking about a glove but it is something I'd rather not use, but perhaps I'll get one and keep it in my case as backup.

Thanks again!
