Curious if anyone here knows of a cue maker who is authorized, and able to replace the butt plate on a NOVA pool cue, and put a new NOVA logo on?

I understand that this is a long shot, but I am curious if anyone here knows of a cue maker who is authorized, and able to replace the butt plate on a NOVA pool cue, and put a new NOVA logo on?

Or, who would you have replace a severely damaged butt plate, of an old NOVA cue?

I was thinking maybe Jacoby, or Jackson cues, but I do not know. I am sure they could replace the butt plate, but I have no idea if anyone out there could put a new NOVA logo on the new butt plate.

Also, I have an off topic question.

I can see that this NOVA cue, that I just got, has an original Piloted shaft, with that really big Phenolic Pilot that you would only see on a NOVA shaft, but the shaft is Laminated, like an original Predator 314, and the ferrule is much shorter then normal.

So, I am just curious if Nubs Wagner ever did a Laminated shaft. It is just really interesting, to see that the shaft is laminated, like an early 314 shaft, but with the big original NOVA pilot and ringwork still on the shaft.

The cue needs a new butt plate, and a new ferrule and tip. The ferrule is cracked in several places. Other then that though, the condition is really not bad at all, and both parts appears to be perfectly straight.

You can get Predator shaft blanks so it's possible that's what your shaft is. Or Nubs might have taken an existing Predator shaft and worked his pilot into it.

As far as the butt cap goes, that's a tough one. You might want to see if you can track down who ended up with his equipment and/or stock. Side note: According to a Proficient Billiards post, the company stamp should be under the wrap. If you get the butt cap replaced, you might also consider getting it rewrapped and a photo taken of the stamp. You're possibly treading into situation where the cost might not match the return, though.

That is really cool, about their stamp being under the wrap.

And, yeah, I am afraid the repair costs wouid be a lot.

All I really need though is a new butt cap, and a new ferrule and tip, though a new refinish woukd be cool. I figure that might cost $175-$200, for just the new butt plate, and the new ferrule and tip replacement, but I do not know.

jacoby replaced a butt and logo on one of my novas.
I have a couple extra original nova maple shafts if your interested.

Hi, that is really cool. Curious how long the turn around time was, to get the cue back from Jacoby, and if they were able to put the Nova logo back on the butt plate?

If I recall correctly it took maybe three weeks and that would include shipping time back and forth.
They recreated the older vertical cursive nova logo.
Give a call they are authorized to reproduce the logo
 
Ooooh that is tricky and glad OP asked. It means he is solid.

I did hear a story, a thread on here, about people getting Tim Scruggs's logo reapplied and it was up for debate. It seems like there was one guy that worked with Tim and he did it.
