Will be in Denver next weekend. If golf turns into too big a hassle I might go play billiards or pool. I seldom get to play billiards now, so may want to play that instead of pool. Is Shakespeares still open at its original location or did it move? Or should I look to some other places. What is going on there. I will be spending some time out southeast, but am not locked in to playing there. There was a room with good tables on Havana and maybe Mississippi or Florida or something, did that one close though? I have played at Table Steaks east on Parker, but am not a huge fan of it. Action is unimportant, I am not looking to gamble for anything but trivial stakes at most.

JPB: Coincidentally, I was at "Rack 'em" tonight, which is near Florida and Havana. It was a slow night, with less than half the crowd they usually have there. In talking with someone else that I know there, we were speculating that the new tobacco ban might have something to do with the lower turnout -- it's just a guess though.

I believe that Shakespeare's is closed at the original location; however, they are in the process of moving to another location in downtown Denver.

Table Steaks South, in Englewood, is hosting the 9-ball tour this coming weekend, which should draw many of the better players in town.

Check out the Cue Times for events in Colorado:

Shakespeare's hasn't quite opened in it's new location (26th and Walnut, from what I understand).

Table Steaks South is one of the better places to go, like Allen said. It's at 101 W. Floyd. Here's a Google Maps link for you.

JPB,

There is a straight pool tournament at Paridise Billiards on Sheridon St. on the 14,15,16. It's a $100 entry fee....if you don't play it still might be fun to watch. Not too many entries thus far, but the best in Denver will probably play in it.

Regards,

Doug

I believe Shakespeares is set to open on July 15th so the timing might work out for your trip.

That being said, table steaks south would be a good bet.

Thanks for the replies guys. Table Steaks south looks like a place I should check out. A few restaurants and such not too far from there I like. Might have to check out the straight pool tournament although I won't play - although I would be eliminated at the earliest possible moment I can't tie up that much time. I doubt a 30 ball runner max will go far in that, eh?? Likely to play on the 15th so maybe I could make it to shakespeare's opening. I dunno. All these choices have me confused.:)
