Here's what it looks like to me:

Efren, Souquet, Manalo are in
Winner of Stalev/Appleton is in
Winner of Chamat/Hohmann is in
Peach needs to beat Orcollo 8-4 to get through, otherwise Orcollo is in

Peach only gets in with a win if he catches up percentage wise. I don't see it happening. Maybe if he wins 8 to 0. They would both be tied, and higher win % gets through.

Nope ineedaspot is correct..Orcollo has to win at least 5 racks,
even if he loses..he will be in by a slim winning percentage..

Yeah, you know I must be more tired than I thought. I never even read the 8 to 4 part he posted (I just read it as he was saying all he had to do was win). My eyes went right over the numbers he posted.

Can someone clarify this for me--if two players are tied for the same number of wins within a group does total games win % trump head-to-head results?

yes it does

I see, thanks for the clarification.

So the rule that says,

""If two players are tied, the player who beat the other player advances. If there is a three way tie, the Tournament Director and Head Referee will assess the time constraints of the tournament and other factors and determine an appropriate tie breaking mechanism,"

is actually referring to a tie in the total winning % I take it, and not the number of games won within a round?

so ralf, dennis and efren are sure to advance.

pending results of their games,

it's the top two between hohmann, chamat or manalo

and either

appleton or stalev

Manalo is already in. We are just waiting for the results of the chamat/hohmann and appleton/stalev to complete the final 6.

so it really is a mosconi cup Europe vs Philippines! Take your pick!!

is it going to be an all-filipino or an all-german finals????

chamat 4 games to move on and hohmann needs 3 games to move on and manalo would be out
well...what you say is technically true, but you give an impossible situation...at least currently.

oops, i was referring to your previous post.

As for the above quote, manalo would advance because his winning % is greater than hohmann's.
