Cushing's for a Gold Crown II

Sorry, for yet another Cushing question, I know their a ton of them. Trust me, for the last 2 weeks I think I have read every forum post regarding crushing's.

Still a bit confused though. I have a 1974 9ft Gold Crown 2 in near perfect shape and I am going to re-felt with Simonis tournament blue 860HR. While I am at it, I am going to have the Cushing's replaced with Super Speeds..

My question, if I don't have the rails modified at all and the new Super Speeds are installed, do you actually lose playing Field size (ie: not 50 x 100 anymore).
I thought I read the new crushing's are actually 1/8 larger thus losing 1/4 inch on the sides and lengths.

I am finally getting back into the Sport after 30 years since the kids are grown and I have my room back. Used to be big into the sport in the late 60's and 70's. I am actually surprised my playing came back fairly quick.

Thanks again.

Welcome! Yes, you will lose playing field dimension and have the possibility of incorrect cushion height if the subrail bevel isn’t adjusted. Where are you located?

I am in Mass. I called Jay in NH because I REALLY wanted to have him work on my table but unfortunately he is unable to at this time. All I want is this 74 GC 2 to play like a 74 GC2 and not to have it try to play like any other table ie Dimond etc.. I am an original type of guy.
Thanks for the quick response!!!

You bet. The SuperSpeeds will do just that but the sub rails need to be adjusted. Any pics of your table? The II's are a rare breed.
