Cushion facings and ball rebound

I live not far from Diamond Billiards and could get neoprene facings if that is who carries them. But I have also seen someone on here using a red (rubber) from Home Depot. Any idea what this is at home depot.

What are the benefits of using the neoprene or the red rubber compared to standard 3.5mm cushion facings.

My table is a cheaper Steepleton and I get the dreaded ball rattles out of the pocket on half way forceful shots. Trying to eliminate that. I am not going to invest the time into fixing the pocket angles if that is the case. Before I do that I will wait and get a GC or Diamond.

Thanks

Red rubber is good. You can get it in the plumbing department. You will save alot of money, compared to Diamond. That is why others use that. Ron

Is Diamonds different. Pooltable911 talked about a durometer gauge. What is the hardness from both places? Is Diamonds better same worse?

Thanks Mike
The 3/16" neoprene facings is the best, the durometer test on it is 60. Facings 1/8" inch do nothing to protect the cloth from stencil cutting through in the corner pockets. I've used the red neoprene from Home Depot, but it was only because I didn't have any 3/16"s or I'd never have bought the red, as in the long run, it won't stop the stencil cutting either.
