Cushion Suggestions Needed

I want to replace my cushions (Master Fast K66) with some new ones. Which ones would you buy?

I hear things about "pure gum" or something that makes them last longer. Know anything about that?


What about these? I have purchased a few things from this guy and would like to give him my business. But are these cushions any good, for the long run?


Also, how do I tell what profile I need? K66 is on the rails now but, for all I know, they were replaced incorectly. The rails look like Gold Crown clones and the GC takes K55. This table is made by - National Shuffleboard and Billiards -

So, any way to measure the profile needed to make sure I order the right ones?

Measure across and lengthwise from cushion tip to cushion tip, it should equal the play area for your table size(ex. 50"x 100" for 4 1/2' x 9'). Then measure tip height from slate to top edge of cushion tip it should be 63-64 % of ball diameter (not sure but about 1- 13/32" I think). Artemis are the best but cost $200+, Championship Tour should be good(check their site for measurements).

One more question about the Artemis or any "fast" rubber.

Would it be benificial to use anything that claims it is fast? Seeing how this table is a practice table, I don't really want to have a table that is nothing like the table I'll be competing on. I don't want dead rails either. The cushions on the table now are real fast, so I was told. 9 cushions out of them is the story. The rubber seems very soft compared to others...

So I guess my question is - If I buy these Artemis cushions, are they going to play, way, too fast compared to other brands that offer the same longevity?


BTW - The cushions on the table are in good shape. I am adding wood and recutting the pocket angle so I can have a tight pocket done right (only one facing/shim but 4.25"-4.375" mouth = tripple shimmed)

The Championship Tour edition are extremely good cushions. The high ratio of natural rubber gives them the high quality needed and also the long life. I think you will find them to be very good. Check out their web site and click on the rail rubber dimentions. This will give you the information you need for K66 rails. If you need info for the K55 rails they can E-mail it to you. I called their sales dept. and found them to be very helpful.

The Championship Tour Edition Cushions are a dual density cushion (something new). I have had them on my table for 3 years now, I like them.

I have played on lots of tables in my 50 years of playing. While the Artemis Cushion may be looked upon as the best, the problem is 99% of your American Pool Tables are not equipped with the best, so you will enjoy the table at home, but some of your play might be affected because of the somewhat different cushions.

I just purchased a set of Championships. I had them shipped next day air so I should have them installed by the end of the weekend :)
