what is the possibility of a custom cue butt using teak? i do not know that i have ever seen one advertised with this type of wood. would the "hit" not be desirable or is the wood to hard to work with? i found a shipwreck on a small island (200 yds X 100 yds) in the middle of the carribean years ago so it has some sentimental value. it can be made to purchase a shaft, like ob2 or similar, yes? i did submit this question to the "cuemakers" thread but have a lot of faith in opinion of the members on the "main" forum.

teak

It could be used. I don't build cues but I have worked with teak. It is hard and has some interesting properties, but with all that aside, if the cue were cored everything should be fine.( Assuming there would be any problems with the use of teak)
