Custom L. Oliver Cue possibly For Sale or Trade for Frey sneaky pete

Hey, I got a really nice custom cue from a cue maker I know nothing about, I was told it sells for $1200 new, (not sure if thats true) if you were to buy it from the cue maker. It is signed L. Oliver #1

Another AZ'er told me that this maker was from Indiana and used Prather parts for his cues, he has past away(Oliver that is) so I don't have any more info, check below for the other AZ'ers post, the cue plays good and is well made, just in need of a refinish, I would like to trade for a Frey Sneaky pete, thanks

the cue is straight and has a good solid hit, it has six points, high low, and a 3/8x10 joint pin with a stainless steel joint, I thought that was a little odd/different than the norm. Comes with one shaft, about 13mm, maybe 12.75 at the least. The handle area is a very nice peice of birdseye maple, not sure of the rest of the woods, so if you know let me know. The cue is in playing condition, it has bumps/nicks/dings ect.. and if you can see in the picture the clear coat is peeling from the stainless steel, there is no major damage that a refinish would not take care of, the shaft has a couple dings up high out of the stroke area, and the stroke area feels smooth and nice, it has a soft/med. layered tip.

well any information on the cuemaker would be great and if you want to make an offer I am open to any reasonable offers, here are some pictures of the cue and the signature. Also--it is not a Jerry Olivier.

Nate,

Larry Oliver from Indiana...Built cues for several years, and passed away about 4-5 years ago. From what I remember and know about him, he typically used Prather Parts, and built several cues using parts. His cues were pretty reasonable in price, and I would say you could have bought this cue for about for less than you have been told. Hope this helps.
