Custom Leather Case-Maker Question?

I realize the wait for a newly ordered cue case can be very long with some leather craftsmen.
Based upon some of the cases & designs on AZ, it's a very understandable why that's so.

I'd like to get a case but I want it to be special......a one of a kind, unique cue case.
It's hard to do that with the structure of the case since cases all resemble one another.
Cases are soft or hard, pockets are pretty much pockets and so are straps & handles.
Interiors are 1x2, 2x4, 3x5, 3x6, 3x7, 4x8 or 6x12. My current case is a 6x12 lizard..

Although I spot gorgeous cases, the cases produced by Jerry Yang blow me away
His Monkey King case is mesmerizing but so are tooled carved cue cases by others.
So a case can be distinctive for several reasons & I'm interested in a theme cue case.

The case -maker would have to use his creative talents to design this case.
It's by no means easy & I really do not have any preconceived ideas what it should be.
I realize there's significant lead time having the case made but it might be a fun project.

If any case-maker reads this thread & their curiosity is piqued & enjoys a challenge,
I hope they'll reach out and contact me......the case can be a 4x8 or 6x12 soft leather
or 3x5 or 3x6 hard leather.......the leather color would be a challenge and of course,
the pinnacle issue is the actual theme.

The New York Yankees........not a specific player, just a tribute case to the Yankees.
I have never seen one in leather and it might not even look nice without colorization.
I figured this was the best place to present this idea and see if it had could be done.

After seeing the cue cases J. Yang has produced, I am inclined to think a truly unique
and outrageous design could be tackled but I am completely inexperienced with cases.
So naturally it dawned on me the Forum was the best place to pose this question.

Get in touch with Marc Turcasso (Matcase) here on AZ... He does incredible work and can do anything your heart desires....

Just to show his versatility, he made this Harley Davidson purse for my wife in a breath...ok maybe had to take a few breaths..:)

We could do it but such cases as that take a long time to conceive, design and ultimately make. If you want what I consider the best mix of practical protection combined with outrageous design then we are a good choice and the only limits are your budget and your patience.

Our setup is currently that our artists work with you directly to design the case. When the design is final we will begin to build it.

We do about 6 "big" cases a year. Our website is www.jbcases.com and our portfolio, woefully behind, still has around 400 cases on display to showcase what we do.

I am pretty sure we could come up with a Yankees case that pays homage without being simply a collage.
 
One of the difficult decisions to make in buying anything custom is finding the right artist.

You want beautiful custom design, but many times it is a matter of your tastes and the artists taste being similar. No disrespect to the ability, talent and skill of the artist, but it is their interpretation of what you want and them applying their own style.

If you wanted a custom tattoo you could go to the 5 best tattoo artists in the world. Looking at their portfolios, all 5 are amazing artists that do incredible work. Still, I bet your could narrow down your choice based on looking at their work and find artists that better match your own taste. I can explain what I want, but I am not an artist. If they gave me exactly what I said I wanted, it might look horrible. It is a leap of faith to trust the artist to make suggestions and apply their own style. The result may or may not come out to your liking.

If you want something not so unique, it becomes easier. The focus changes from one of a kind custom artistry, to similar artistry with strong functional design and execution. This applies to many things, tattoos, paintings, interior design and leather cases for example.
