Doing some house cleaning.
Custom Moon Cue for sale. Honestly I do not know much about it as I am it's third owner. The original owner spec'd it out played a few racks with it, then sold it to another who bought it for a family member and never played a game with it. Personnally I played a game or two with it as a back-up, but it has been sitting in my case for a few years, until a let a local team member borrow it for awhile to see if he wanted to purchase for another friend. I believe it to be Tulipwood.
The cue has a few blemishes that I have tried to capture:
- The butt cap has a few marks as shown in the photos.
- One Shafts Joint collar is slightly scuffed
- One Shaft has a small mark, which can be seen and felt.
Both shafts are the original Moon shaft, however both are different, one with a finish, one without.
The butt and shafts appear to be straight. Laying each on the counter they all have approx. 3/32 gap at the center of the taper. Spinning them in place, it never seems to vary from that.
Moons fit and finish is okay, not high quality like the upper cue makers. His points are very sharp, but as the photos show his wrap work is a little sloppy. His Joint caps are also not cut crisp.
Checking the point length with a piece a paper wrapped around, the butt, 1 out of each of the 3 high low points ends slightly lower (1/8" measured from where the veneer stops) than the other 2. I never noticed before, but if you examine the cue for that flaw you can see it.
$150 shipped CONUS
The blemishs are the reason behind the low price, as it is a nice cue which does not play badly
More pictures can be provided if needed.
