I want to buy a custom poolcue but i don't know wich cuemaker to go to , there are so many . For me the design is not so important but the playability has to be outstanding . Last month i had the chance to play with a custom made sneacky pete and it was amazing . The person payed $600 for it but i forgot the cue maker and i never saw him again !!! Too many beers the same night and in the morning couldn't remember a lot .
Have you got some ideas for me ?
I just started playing pool but i have a background of 15 years snooker .
Here in Belgium i'm a top 5 poolplayer but i'm sure i can improve my game with the right cue . Now i play with a predator with Z2 shaft but this is just crap , the times i'm not feeling that good at the table this cue doesn't help me if you know what i mean .
I want a low deflection cue that's already been built and i have $1000 to spent . Of course a new one !

Thanks

if u are once in liege (even so ur name looks like ur from anderlecht ;)) just send me a pm and u can test my carolina cue :) but from march on im for 8 weeks in luxemburg.

just contact me

btw: germany has some good cuemakers too for example arthur near koblenz which is not so far from belgium so you might try one out

Maybe not the best question.

The only way you are going to know if you like a cue is by taking it or its sister for a test drive. You probably can't define all of the parameters that you are looking for in a new cue. But, you will know what you like when you shoot with it! Try hitting some balls with many different cues. Go to some of the larger tournaments and see what the vendors have to offer. Hold onto your money until you have picked up that cue that you just can't set down. You may come across a cue that has the sweetest solid maple shaft with straight tight grain. Or, you might find a cue with a laminate shaft that you really like. But you won't know until you have tried it.
Almost forgot: Take notes on the cues that you have tried out that describe what you like and don't like in that cue.

Good Morning Mr. RSCA Hooligan. I think this cue will meet your needs and it is within your budget: http://www.arnotq.com/pages/822/.

Thanks for looking,

Thank's everybody for the great ideas you've given me .
Now i've got to make a choice !!!

Carolina cue
Josey cue
Arnot cue
Spitz cue

It's going to be one of these 4 .
Ill post later which one i've chosen together with my review of the cue .

If it is any consolation RSCA Hooligan, I couldn't follow my advice either.:o I'm expecting the arrival of a cue from one of the cuemakers on your list in about 5 weeks. I arrived at the decision of which cue maker to use after using the search function extensively for about 2 weeks. One of the deciding factors in which cuemaker to use was the type of cue joint they primarily use. About 16 years ago, I had a joss with a phenolic joint that I really liked the way it played. I have just started playing again after a 14 year break. I don't want to unduly influence your decision, because each of those cuemakers on your list make an excellent product. The hard part is deciding which one makes the cue that best fits your playing style.:o
