Custom Pool Room

The upper walls and ceiling are now done. First coat is on the lower walls. 1 more coat there and I'll be ready for trim.

Recessed lights, all receptacles except the box for the wall-mounted TV, switches and plates are in. All trim except the chair rail is in.

There was no need to mud the corner seams since it's all covered with trim. If I weren't putting trim in all the corners, I would have.

Not really true, but it's your room.;) (they don't get mudded just for looks)

I ordered my 8' Diamond Pro-Am today. The charcoal dymondwood is on order and they're expecting it by the end of the month, so it's looking like beginning of the year for the table. That'll work out okay and give me plenty of time to get everything finished up first. Super excited :)

The carpet is in now. Just a couple more details inside to take care of (closet hardware and shelves, tables, stools) and waiting on the table to arrive which is estimated the beginning of the year.

Custom cuestand built for me by my Dad for Christmas. He found the base on the turnpike when he worked there about 10 years ago. He's had it in his garage the entire time and never knew what it was until he saw it on storage wars and found out it's part of an old wrought-iron cuestand. So he refinished it and built the upper portion. He also gave me a couple antique cues that I'll be hanging on the walls that were my great grandfather's. I guess he used to play a lot of 3-cushion billiards in his day. Still waiting on the table!

ok, dumb@ss / noob question - how do you get ur cues in & out of that stand ? (doesnt look like there is 'slots' cut in the top plate - just 'holes' ?)
and therefore, doesn't seem to be enough space to pull the cue out downwards - butt of cue would hit the floor before the top of cue was thru the top plate hole ??

I'm sure there is a simple answer here - but its not something I've come across before ?

Just Curious...
Cheers.

Why didn't you put a concrete foundation underneath the building? Once the building is settled it may not be level anymore. Everything else looks great!

You can't tell from the picture, but there's enough clearance between the base and the floor ( and the top holes are oversized enough) to tilt the cues out and down without hitting the floor.

We're building a house next year and will be picking up the building and moving it across our lot to a new home on a concrete foundation when that happens, next to our new house. The building has settled and will settle more with freeze/thaw, and we'll re-level the table in the meantime.

Still waiting on my pool table. Diamond called a couple weeks ago and said that they "should be in the area around the end of the week of the 6th." Well, that came and went, so I called them back and now they're saying the end of the week of the 25th. Hopefully that holds true. I wish they would have either never called me, or called and told me that they were estimating delivery in mid-march, that way I would pleasantly surprised by the end of January delivery.

I don't. All I know is the truck is supposed to be leaving, heading my way tomorrow or weds, but is heading to the DC area first before heading back my way.

Nice work. I agree with the crowd that it needed to be a tad bigger.....but nice work all the same.

Mine took 6 months to build......

Thanks :) Yeah, I saw your build. Very very nice. I LOVE the floor you did...looks great!

edit: btw, I completely agree with your "holy grail for ceiling drywall" statement. I used one as well, and wow...I won't ever do it without again.

Hasty, unfair comment removed. Tomorrow is the big day. Won't be sleeping much in the near future.
