Custom Sneaky Pete below $400

Hello Guys,

I am thinking to get my first custom cue, and I like SP so much! Though I am going to get one, but I don't know much about custom cue. May I know who makes the best SP for around $400? I prefer a full splice with good shaft (stiff hit). Thanks.

regards,
Beng

I know on ebay right now, Woody Woodorth has some Sneaky's for $250 which is a steal on those. Brand new, and his stuff plays pretty good.

Other wise you can alsways buy a Keith Kustom (That's what I'd do.) in that price range.

good luck with what ever you decide!

best,

Justin

I like my dufferin conversion from Joel Weinstock. People tell me my Jerry Olivier sneaky (from a dufferin blank) reminds them of Tim Scruggs sneaky. Richard Hsu makes his own blanks, and his sneaky pete and have the hit, feel as his more expensive cues.

In the used (pre-owned), I would take a look at Tim Scruggs or Bludworth.

Well coming from Maryland people always talk about Bob Frey's sneaky petes as the best. Not sure of the price if you order directly but there are always new and used ones that pop up over in the wanted/for sale section all the time. Good Luck.

Guys, Thanks for all suggestions. Keith Kustom and Keith Josey is not the same CM right?

I have a Keith Josey and a Keith Kustom sneaky will be in my hands next week.

I can't really review his sneakys yet but if they're like any of his other cues you couldn't go wrong with either.

I'm paying $450 for my KK but it might be a bit more expensive than normal because he made it a different size for me.

Thanks for the clarification. :)

Any other recommendations? Thanks.

You can't go wrong with a Leon Sly. I had one and it was a fantastic cue. The fit & finish is the same as his high-end cues. And a real nice guy too.

He's on this site. Send him a PM or scan the for sale section for what's available now.

Good luck in your search!

Well I absolutely love my Josey.

I do like his standard shafts but don't have one below 13mm and can't play with a shaft that big anymore after trying an OB2 so that's what I use on it.

The only way I'd sell it is if I had another Josey.

How is the standard shaft hits? how is the stiffness and feedback? Thanks. :)

The hit feels GREAT with the standard shaft.

Personally I don't think it's as stiff as people say but compared to your norm it's definitely pretty stiff.

As far as feedback goes with a Kamui black I feel like I'm touching the cueball with my hand when I hit it. I don't know how to describe it, I feel like I'm feeling the cue ball.

If he would make a standard shaft at 11.75mm for me or a timeless timber I'd probably use that instead of my OB2.

Keith Hanssen is making the maple shaft for my sneaky @ 11.6mm so I can't wait for that.

Hey buddy, Thanks for your help! Appreciate it very much.

I am searching the threads too, anyone has hit with both SLY and Josey before?
