Cut shot drill

Since I am getting better on long difficult cuts, I would like a drill on that including the right angle ones.

Does anybody know one?

Put CB on head spot and OB on foot spot and cut in corner. Then you can move the OB closer to the end rail. Or you can move the CB left or right of the head spot. For a 90 degree cut place OB a foot from side pocket. then place CB a foot or two away from OB with right edge of CB lined up with left edge of OB at a right angle then fire away. A little outside english makes it easier.

I like the spot to spot shot and shoot one left then the next right until I make 5 in each pocket.

There are many drills that you can use to develop this part of your game. The trouble that most people have with these shots is that they worry too much about the shot and not the position, or vice versa. Many of the rail drills I have come up with deal with the multi-task process of making the shot and attaining position on the next ball. A good way to progress the drill is to attain position at different locations by experimenting with different speeds of stroke. Many of the drills I have made available here deal with this process, as do the drills set forth by Bob & Eric at the San Francisco Billiard Academy. This drill here is an example of combining the two tasks, while at the same time concentrating on control of your stroke. The balls are shot in a color pattern, as follows:
1 then 9 (Yellow)
2 then 10 (blue)
3 Then 11 (red)
4 then 12 (Purple)
5 then 13 (Orange)
6 Then 14 (Green)
7 then 15 (maroon)
8 ball is last

You must also stay on the side of the side of the table as shown in the diagram.

Blackjack- another great drill! Keep em' coming!
fast larry- Excellent advice! Practice, Practice, Practice! You must play each game with a challenge. Play someone better than you, that way you have a reason to win, and it's not just playing another game. You have to play to win!

Thanks for the drills, Jake,David, and Larry. Now that I am shooting some better, I am finding that I am getting more motivated.

I honest to God thought that I was never going to be any good at pool and now am finding that 'there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it isnt a train'.;)

Hey, what about Skeezicks? Did you look at that web page?

I am sorry I left your name out. The page looks great.

The shooting drills are great. The position one is great too since I am just starting on that. Right now my position skills consist of draw, easy follow, and using oe, hoping it bounces around the table enough to give me position on something.:(
