Cynergy 11.8 vs Whyte Carbon 12.2

So I have the 11.8mm Cynergy with a HOW medium top and as much as I love it I’m considering a step up in diameter to the 12.2mm Whyte Carbon to have a little more forgiveness on the 9’ tables. Anyone else made this switch or have an opinion on the 12.2? The 12.5 I just can’t get comfortable playing with.

i play fine with the 11.8 cynergy on the 9ft
its all in your head
you can fire in a ball with it
long draw, its a legit shaft
Everyone is different before I took 14 years away from the game I played with an 11.4 maple shaft no issues after the time off my consistency in my stroke is lacking. A larger shaft will help with that but like tips, shafts are a personal choice that’s why I was asking others who have stepped up their thoughts but thank you for sharing your opinion :)

That is 100% true and I am not looking for it to help improve my stroke I am looking at it as a larger diameter to provide a little more forgiveness on my longer shots while I am getting back into it. My fundamentals are pretty solid my stroke however isn't as consistent as it once was from day to day so having a larger diameter shaft helps with some inconsistencies. There is a reason most pros now play with larger mm shafts. I just cannot get comfortable with the 12.5mm so I made this post to see what some have experienced with stepping up in diameter from 11.8mm to 12.2mm. Shafts like tips are personal that's why I don't just take 1 persons advice I like to hear testimonials and then apply it to my game and see what works for me.

Thank you for your input and no I am not looking for a bandaid. I spend 8hrs a day at the table I have a 11.8 and a 12.5 and I have tried to get comfortable with it, I just can't it feels to bulky in my bridge fingers, so 12.2 is a happy median, and yes mm's make a difference. Reality is larger shafts allow for more forgiveness there is a reason they are preferred but again its just something I can't get comfortable with so I am trying the 12.2 if it don't feel right it don't feel right. I changed shafts for the very 1st time since the 90's last year and even though shooting with the 11.8 and winning BCA World Gold Division this year I am not 100% on it. So maybe if you don't have any experience in stepping up in mm then just don't offer any input. Being back less than 2 years and already accomplishing that and playing on the WPBA this upcoming season I am happy with where my game is but that's not to say there isn't room for improvement. Best of luck to you sir and again thanks for your responses.

I went from 12.5 to 13mm shaft and my ball pocketing got better
I've been playing much better lately with my Revo 12.9mm over the other CF shafts that I have that are all 12.5mm.
Before CF, I was a 314 guy and preferred the 12.75mm over the Z shaft.
Whatever is considered this or that and whatever this pro or the other uses, it doesn't matter, it's what works for you.
