The D line cues are generally considered some of the best production cues ever made - they're the pinnacle of McDermott's output. McD told me they were having joint collars & butt caps made by a contracted company, and didn't find out until late that these people were using silicone in the molds to keep parts from sticking. That's why you see so many D line cues (I own 2 - one is a one off) with finish chipping at the joint collar & butt cap. Many of the ones they use to re-finish (including one of mine) they ground a chamfer on the joint collar finish to avoid having a hard, square edge, and thus inhibit chipping.
They're real nice cues.
