dale perry cues

dale perry verdict

i just got back from the pool room.hit balls for about 15 min. and i must say it hits pretty good.i had 2 other people hit with it and 1 liked it and the other said it was to stiff.the second guy is a player from the past who plays with a meuci .wich always seemed to be very soft and whippy.my playing cue is a jacoby with a predater shaft and that cue hit awsome.i would descibe the d.p cue as a medium hit,but the tips it came with are junk.i don't know what they are.i did finally get a reply back from dale perry.he e mailed me that this was the first message he got from me,sadi the nick sometimes happens during shipping.although it is not really a nick.where the ring meets the wood of the shaft you can feel it with your finger nail.almost like theres a gap.i will try and get another shaft but i am skeptical.it is funny how the e mail with the payment got thru but the only part that was read was the payment.oh well it's probably just me.all in all-good choice.it hits as goog as my cognoscenti and bloodworth, and better than my shoun, but my jacoby hits the best.i got lucky with that cue because it must of had some dave magic in it.thanks.

ok now your jacopy does not hit the best.....the 314 shaft does!!!:D I will try and get a few shots with mine tonight!! I do fill the same way you do...I have a Mcdermott with a predator shaft!! And I have had a hard time finding something to beat that....only one I have noticed are Scuggs, southwest(depending on taper) and the old schon cues!! Old Schon have that perfect feel to me!!

314

i used the same shaft on my shon, wich i played with for years, and the hit isn't even close.i think it has to do with the material that the metal joint coller wraps around on my jacoby.unlike the shon, where the metal is solid.

What a jerk!

The only part of this statement that is true is that Dale's cues are affordable! Aside from that, his designs are unattractive and, lets face it! The man has some sort of sick malachite and turquoise fetish! The play on these cues is at best mediocre. I'd rather buy a production cue.
This is totally uncalled for! How would you like to have someone attack your life's work like this? You are certainly entitled to your opinion but there is absolutely no excuse for a personal attack like this. I happen to like his designs, and apparently so do a lot of other people. Since he is selling his cues, it is logical to assume that he has observed that there are people in this world that like malachite and turquoise. It doesn't mean he "has some sort of sick fetish". If I was him, I'd tell you where to stick your production cue...

When I order from him I talk to him personally and get what
I want. Fast delivery. Well packed. nice quality.

New poster. I got a DP cue off Ebay and am extremely impressed with the quality of the work and the hit. I upgraded to a DP-R shaft and it plays very much like my Predator's as Dale said it would. I called the shop 3 or 4 times prior to receiving the cue and either got Dale himself or Brian. They have both been accessable, friendly and helpful. Actually I was amazed to be able to get a cue of that quality for the price.

With the machinery that he has, he is probably turning out about 30 cues a month

At that production rate should the DP cues still be considered a custom cue?

If he's cranking out about 30 cues a month that's about 300+ cues a year not including special orders, wholesalers, etc.

Most custom cuemakers produce very few cues a year, a hundred or so, which is why there's long waiting list and high values.

What's the line between custom and production?

well I finally hits some balls with mine tonight! not bad at all considering the price. I would put it right below my predator /mcdermott combo (not by much though). the feel is a true hit a little like a meucci but not as a weak feel!! `````````I will more than likely start playing with thi all the time time. I really did like that it was playable stiff at times!!! AAA+ in my book?

but unfornunately no resale value at all............had someone off me 300 for it already....yeah right at this time worth much more than that to me!!
