are you the guy with the dlt table?

remove all the other screws and lift the slate out. If you cant lift the slate up, you will have to force the slate up by pounding wood wedges between the frame liner and the slate liner. put wedges and both sides of the screw or you will damage the slate liner. after the slate is removed take the screw out with vise grips. this is a common problem with dlt tables. I suggest replacing all the slate screws with #14 2 1/2" long screws.

When you put the table back together make sure you drill out the slate backing through the slate screw holes. I learned with dlt tables very quickly that the slate screws only feel so tight because they don't drill out the backing after they put it on so they are actually only tight through the backing but not into that frame liner. After that i would always replace the screws with #14 2 1/2" as well.

Thanks for the help Mr. Donny. It worked out great. I was going crazy trying to figure out how to get the slate off.
